Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) — Section 51 Manual

1. Introduction

This manual is published in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) ("PAIA"), and is intended to provide information on the categories of records held by Centriplus Africa and the procedure for requesting access to such records.

2. Information Officer

The Information Officer of Centriplus Africa is responsible for the administration of PAIA requests. Requests for access to information should be directed to:

3. Categories of Records

The following categories of records are held by Centriplus Africa:

  • Company registration and statutory records;
  • Financial and accounting records;
  • Operational and service records;
  • Personnel records (subject to POPIA);
  • Contractual records with clients and suppliers.

4. Request Procedure

Requests for access to information must be made in writing using the prescribed PAIA request form (Form C). The request must provide sufficient detail to identify the record sought and must be accompanied by the applicable fee, if any.

Completed request forms should be submitted to the Information Officer at the contact details listed above.

5. Grounds for Refusal

Access to certain records may be refused on grounds set out in PAIA, including the protection of personal information, commercial information, and information that is legally privileged.

6. Fees

A request fee and access fee may be payable in accordance with the PAIA regulations. The Information Officer will advise on any applicable fees upon receipt of a request.

7. Availability of This Manual

This manual is available on our website and may be updated from time to time in accordance with the requirements of PAIA.
